Happy April & Easter

This month did not start out great as I unfortunately caught covid, so spent the first couple weeks in bed. Not only did I miss out on a weekend trip to Edinburgh (gutted), I fell behind with some of my work and sketching goals (if you remember last month, I also gave myself a task to complete at least one interior sketch per week). However, by the end of the month I was feeling a lot better and re-energised so was able to complete a couple quick sketches, using all the drawing skills I acquired from @behindcanvas online courses.

I decided to use some of my favourite interior Instagram accounts as inspiration for my sketch practise, with the stunning bathroom renovation of @timlabenda and the delightfully pink chaise lounge of @homemadehappinest
If you fancy giving interior sketching a go, check out @behindcanvas you do not need any drawing experience and can even get 10% off with the code JALANINTERIOR.
I know I say it every month – but I truly love the work that Stephanie does, she is a very gifted artist and her courses were a huge benefit to me whilst I was completing my interior design diploma.

SPRING IS HERE
The rest of the month was relatively quiet as I recovered from covid, but I did manage to pop through to Aberdeen where I visited Duthie Park and the Winter Gardens. Spring has now officially sprung, it was lovely to see so much colour!

BRAND NEW PRODUCT LAUNCH ON ETSY
I added lots of lovely new pieces to my Etsy shop Jalan Interior this month, including some stoneware jars, individual pampas stems, kitchen pottery, candle holders and dried flower frames. I had spent the beginning of the year sourcing some unusual and intriguing vintage pieces, so was fab to finally launch them.

TIPI YOGA
I am so fortunate to live near this gorgeous tipi @dellofabernethy which hosts weekly and monthly yoga. I try to come a few times every summer, so was thrilled those classes picked up again this month. It was just the restorative dose of nature I needed to feel better.
