Monthly Recap – March

Happy Monday!

March began with one of my favourite days – pancake day! Any excuse to whip out the Nutella is always a hit with me

TARAMCAN CAFE

One weekend this month I took a drive over towards Balmoral and discovered a new café called Tarmachan. The interior décor is ultra-contemporary and fresh, with it being situated in a rural highland countryside this makes it feel even more unique and intriguing. After a yummy hot drink and pie and we were good to go, and now I know Tarmachan is here I will be popping by on our future road trips.

BOOKS READ THIS MONTH

  • Poverty Safari by Darren Mc Garvey
  • To Catch a Killer by Peter Bleksley
  • Invisible Girl by Lisa Jewell
  • Matrix by Lauren Groff

ANTIQUE SHOPPING

I have been gradually sourcing new pieces for my Etsy shop by visiting some antique marketplaces, including this great one in Strichen. Antiques & Curios has so many eclectic and interesting items, it was quite overwhelming, and I left with only a couple items, but now I know about this gem I will be stopping by often.

I am hoping to launch a bucket load of exciting new pieces on the Etsy shop next month, in the meantime I am running a clearance sale on selected items now.

QUICK INTERIOR SKETCHING

I finished my @behindcanvas Top 3 Quick Interior Hand Rendering Techniques this month, a very fast and fun sketch that took me no time at all. I still have another course of Stephanie’s to complete as well as some of my own personal sketches that I am hoping to accomplish next month.

I realise that to improve my skills as well as finish my sketching goals I need to give myself a challenge. So next month I will sketch one completed interior image per week.

I think setting myself this very public ambition will help push me to stick to my goal. Follow me on Instagram to see how I do and check out @behindcanvas courses below (Enter discount code JALANINTERIOR for 10% off).
