Monthly Recap – November

BARNARD CASTLE

This month involved a mini trip down south to Barnard Castle, a town along the bank of the River Tees, in County Durham. A picturesque and charming place with lots of delightful cafes, pubs and shops including some superb destinations like Niche, an interiors business and boutique shop filled with gorgeous unique pieces. I was also just in time for all the festive decorations!

ANTIQUE SHOPPING

Barnard Castle hosts some fab antique shopping destinations, and I had a field day checking out all the exceptional vintage home decor. Luckily, I could only take what I could carry, so the big furniture items had to stay put.

BOWES MUSEUM

I visited Bowes Museum and caught the Raymond Briggs: A Retrospective exhibition which delves into the work of the author-illustrator behind some of the most influential children’s books, including The Snowman and Father Christmas.

The Bowes Museum building was designed in the style of a French château and feels very grand and sophisticated. It is filled a collection of some of the best examples of European fine and decorative arts in the UK.

NEW STOCK ON ETSY

Back home, I have been stocking up for Christmas and adding lots of exquisite new pieces to my Etsy shop, such as some tiny trinkets like these stoneware jars, glass bottles and these chic Art Deco style jewellery ring holders.

CALM & COOL

I discovered an adorable wellness studio in Aberdeen, Calm & Cool Studio with all sorts of tranquil pretty pastels and natural woods in the interior décor as well as a lovely selection of yoga classes.
